Gypsy Moth
Spraying
Spraying for the Gypsy Moth occurred on June 6, 2011.
Notices were mailed to property owners in the areas of Lake
Township that were in the areas to be sprayed for the gypsy moth caterpillar. Please
contact us at the phone number below if in the future you notice an
unusally high number of caterpillars or egg masses, as we will again
compile a list and assess if another spraying needs to be done.

REFERENDUM UPDATE
On July 27, 2011, nine pages of 102 petition
signatures were received by the Lake Township Clerk. This will
allow for Lake Township to hold either a special election or have a
vote during the next regular election.
Updates will be posted as they occur.
The Lake Township Board of Trustees, at the
meeting of June 20, 2011, adopted the Wind Energy Overlay Zoning
ordinance (by a vote of 4-ayes/1 nay). This overlay was recommended
by the Planning Commission.
On July 6, 2011, a notice of intent to file a petition for
referendum was received by the Lake Township Clerk.

Michigan Department of Transportation
To Whom It May Concern:
Personal property cannot legally be placed on The Michigan Department of
Transportation (MDOT) right-of-way, according to Public Act 368 of 1925
and Section 257.676(a) of the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code. MDOT is
making an effort to reduce the amount of such encroachments and to
increase safety for the motorists.
